Today in History: Obama Wins the Presidency
The invention of fire. The discovery of the new world by European explorers. Putting a man on the moon. Once again, today history has been made … Obama will become the 44th President of the United States. Many people outside the US have said that the US was too set in it’s ways. Too proud to change. Today I took my seventy-five year old white father, too sick and weak to stand for more than a few minutes … and we voted for Obama. We voted like so many others in our great country have and told the world that the differences amongst us, the stain on our past … can be overcome … we can step over into a new world.
