Tabbed Browsing in Internet Explorer 6

Tabbed Browsing with MSN Toolbar

Whoever thought that tabbed browsing was only available to Firefox, Opera, IE7, etc.? While updating Windows today using WindowsUpdate, I was prompted to update the MSN Bar. Everything went smoothly and I was suprised and pleased to see a brand bar which looked like a tab bar … and after further inspection … it was! The whole thing is pretty basic and CTRL+W still closes the whole IE window instead of just one tab, but this will do quite nicely for IE users and me for the occasional IE use until Internet Explorer 7 comes out.

MSN Toolbar is also great with the integration of MSN Desktop Search and MSN Deskbar.

Tabbed browsing is an awesome feature, and should have been added to IE as a feature long ago.

I personally (pre IE7) have always used Avant Browser, a skin to give IE some enhanced features.

I’m pretty sure the devs had more on their plate than to add the feature into an already established product. I’m looking forward to the final release of IE7.

On another note, I used MyIE2(Maxthon) for the longest time before I started using Firefox, and now Flock.
