I recently switched from cable to DSL and I’ve never been so frustrated since leaving dial-up. All my problems are in part the setup of the DSL and another from just plain bad service. For years cable gave me no problem and I always knew when things were not going to be online because I always received updates from my local provider of any planned outages. I don’t get no such updates from Qwest and while for the past few weeks the service has been fine, recently it has been acting up. The DSL modem constantly disconnects and I can’t do anything that takes any length of time including playing games online. Grrrrr!!! I connect to the modem wirelessly and although everything stops when the microwave is being used (modem is next to the microwave), that was merely a minor annoyance. A word to the wise, do not switch internet services if your current setup is fine. I’m going to get another line set up away from the microwave and the wireless phone base to fix my end, but that doesn’t really solve my problems with connecting. I’m going to try buying a better DSL modem to replace that piece of shit modem that Qwest gives you and see if that fixes things. Other than that, I guess I’ll have to wait until things get better, or find another provider.
