Xbox 360 pricing brings more questions

Now that Microsoft has finally released final pricing for the Xbox 360, lots of questions come to mind …

  • How much are the different subscription options for Xbox Live?
  • The 399 price point has free Silver membership to Live. Is this for life? If so, how long does it last?
  • Can we slap a 200/300/400/etc gig hard drive into a 360 instead of settling for 20 gigs? If not, will Microsoft offer different drive sizes in the future? (Retail price says that 20 gigs is 99 dollars … which is just plain BS. I can get 200 gigs for 100 dollars.
  • When are the first generation mod chips going to start appearing? If at all?
  • If the 360 is moddable, how homebrew-developer friendly is it going to be? Are homebrew developers going to be able to develop applications as complex as XBMC for it?
  • There are rumors that future versions of the 360 might support HD-DVD, if so, will there be an upgrade that users can follow to support HD-DVD if it is supported in the future?
