Call of Duty: World at War Beta
I and a few others have just received Beta keys to Call of Duty: World at War for the 360 (PC beta coming out soon). Modern Warfare had great multiplayer and even rivalled Halo 3 in the numbers of players playing it many times. If they keep what made Modern Warfare multiplayer great … upgrades, maps, etc. … this will be a hit. Treyarch has made duds before *cough Call of Duty 3*cough*, so they have something to prove. At least they’ll be working on a good Call of Duty 4 foundation, so one would think that they couldn’t screw up too much even if they tried. Enough talking, more playing I say.
*EDIT*
I’ve played a few rounds and it seems they didn’t stray too far away from proven gameplay. Ranks, Create-A-Class, unlockables … all still in multiplayer mode. The maps that were included are decent but with a small number of players in each map, rounds seem to last far too soon. Weapons don’t really sway much at all when running around, but the kickback from the weapons is very strong … too strong for something that doesn’t sway when you are running around. Aside from that, there really is not much to criticize about a game that uses a formula that I liked previously. I’ll definitely be playing more.
